In a CBC article, cybersecurity analysts warned the public about the increasing number of cyber attacks on smartphones. Because of the lack of anti-malware software on smartphones, and because of the sensitive and personal information people carry on their phones nowadays, smartphones are becoming a target for hackers. Interestingly, the most vulnerable function on your phone is actually text messaging. Hackers will send you a message that mimics one from your bank or a website, and asks you to open a link. Once you open that link, it could download a virus onto the phone and allow the hackers to access your information or even monitor your activities.
According to the article, Android phones are most prone to cyber attacks, as its apps are not as tightly regulated, allowing hackers to find different ways to introduce malware onto your phone.
