Right of erasure for high school students

In class we talked about the debate surrounding the 'right of erasure' or the 'right to forget'. The California legislature recently passed a bill which allows children under the age of 18 to erase their social media data. Supporters of the bill argued that children under the age of 18 should be able to develop their identities as they grow without fear that that social media content will be linked to them for the rest of their lives.
