I just wanted to bring to your attention that if you are using Mendeley for the reference manager assignment, the journal abbreviations generated for the citation may not correspond exactly to the ones in our McGill Guide, despite both being 7th edition. Other than that, Mendeley is actually a very useful tool - don't forget to download the Word PlugIn if you use it!

Good catch, Ashley. For purposes of the course, you can go ahead and use the Mendeley plugin for the McGill citation format. Those of you using RefWorks, EndNote, Zotero or other tools should take a look to see that the same problem is not present there as well. If the tool has an issue, we aren't going to hold it against you. The purpose of using a reference manager in this course is really to get you used to using them, if you haven't done so in the past. For larger projects they are invaluable.
